Application Week 1 part 2 AW Entering the Research Process/ Beginning Your Research Simulation from General Topic to Subtopics

Application Assignment Week 1- Part 2: Entering the Research Process/ Beginning Your Research Simulation from General Topic to Subtopics
Student Name: Angie Woods
Restate my general early childhood research topic I would like to research the topic is theirs a difference in early childhood field then elementary field. In the schools here in the Delta of Mississippi most teacher think there is as if the elementary field is better. So I am glad to research more about this topic so that I can have a better understanding in the two fields and can explain my knowledge to most of the people I work with can understand the two fields. My professional is that I am a Permanent Substitute Kindergarten teacher at a school which the name of the school is called James C. Rosser Elementary. In a very small town called Moorhead Mississippi it seems like theirs a debt between the two fields among most teachers and few administers in the local area where I live. In my research of the topic I discover a naeyc position statement of developmentally appropriate practice in early childhood programs serving children from birth through age 8. In the naeyc position statement there was some real good important information tips about my general statement topic.
One of my subtopic I would like to address that was part of my learning was creating improved, better connected education for preschool and elementary children. In the naeyc position statement it stated that preschool education and elementary education each with its own funding sources, infrastructure, values, and traditions have remained largely separate. In fact, the education establishment typically has not thought of preschool as a full-fledged part of American public education. Among the chief reasons for this view is that preschool is neither universally funded by the public nor mandatory. Moreover, preschool programs exist within a patchwork quilt of sponsorship and delivery systems and widely varying teacher credentials. Many programs came into being primarily to offer child care for parents who worked.
In recent years, however, preschool’s educational purpose and potential have been increasingly recognized, and this recognition contributes to the blurring of the preschool elementary boundary. The two spheres now have substantial reasons to strive for greater continuity and collaboration. Still from my understanding I see no difference in how the two fields are different from the other field. As it goes on further in the information of this topic which gave my wondering a more clear understanding to my debt was that, the world of early care and education stands to gain in some respects from a closer relationship with the K–12 system. Given the shortage of affordable, high-quality programs for children under 5 and the low compensation for those staff, advocates see potential benefits to having more 4-year-olds, and perhaps even 3-yearolds, receive services in publicly funded schooling. Proponents also hope that a closer relationship between early-years education and the elementary grades would lead to enhanced alignment and each sphere’s learning from the other, resulting in greater continuity and coherence across the preK -3 grade spans.(2) My second subtopic is recognizing teacher knowledge and decision making as vital to educational effectiveness. I think teacher should have the right to know the directing and scaffolding of teacher’s work is helpful. Teacher’s provide the best teaching and learning for children in which it varies with the differences among administrators , plus teachers themselves in the context in which they work. (3) My third subtopic is learning more about the naeyc is this renewable license program since both fields are alike at an aspect of grade levels.  I am lost in trying to see if it’s a license like most teachers with a degree in elementary education have to gather ECU hours up for to keep their license. So how is it done for teachers in early childhood field that’s in the program of naeyc programs?  But I do understand that both fields are the same from prek-3 it’s more of working together in learning children.
The three ways I anticipate that researching these topics might be significant for young children, their families, and/or the field of early childhood. (1) The first way is that both fields are significant for young children and their families. It goes in ways by helping the children development and learning occur in are influenced by socially and culturally. It reduces the learning gaps and increasing the achievement of all children. Children learn more how to interact with other children besides their own cultures as well. (2) It gives help to many families with low income to provide a safer and academically early start for young children. By preparing a head start in school at a younger age so when children start school they’ll be more prepared and ready to learn more. (3) The third way in researching the topic might be significant to the field of early childhood is that no matter what people may say or try to low standardize the field of early childhood. As long as you’re an educator the things that early childhood teachers are the mold of the children first being. Everyone main goal is to teach children to the best of your knowledge there is no field is better than another field. Because everyone serves the same purpose that’s to teach children to our best knowledge and standards.
